Editor's review
This is a tool that can restore damaged MS Project files.
This program is able to restore MPP formatted files as well as the Project 2010 files. This tool is able to look at the file structures in depth and help recover data from them. Eventually, the data will be saved only after the user approves what has been recovered. The process starts with opening the corrupted file. The interface is simple and will let most users to get used to it very simply. It is able to restore MPP files from all the versions of the MS Project. The wizard included in the interface will guide you through the process and help repair project plans efficiently. The first phase of analysis will find data despite the type of problem that may have caused the problem. The recovered data is offered to user for evaluation.
The recovered data is saved in an entirely new file so that the source file remains untouched. The process does not affect the data found or damage it any further. On the opening screen you are required to provide the path for the damaged file. You then click on the analyze file button. There may be some situations when files cannot be recovered, you will be able to send the file to the developers for them to try and recover the data. On the start recovery screen you get a display of the elements recovered for your review. The tool has a log process that records the events that happen during the process. This is useful as you get clues should something go wrong. This is a good tool and should be handy when you need to deal with a large number of MS Project file.
